Brags, Brags and More Brags!!!
May 2008
From Travler Collies:
Bree Anne Ardizzone was Best Junior Handler at Mason Dixon Collie Club and Collie Club of Maryland, handling
Ch. Signet’s First Class Travler. That gave her 5 Open wins qualifying her for the December 2008 Eukanuba
Invitational. At Mason-Dixon CC, smooth collie “Carlie,” Thistlebrae Travler’s Iced Decaf, owned by Becky Tehon& JoAnne Pringle, was RB in the strong major entry. At Collie Club of Western PA (1), Bree Anne was Best Junior
Handler for her 6th Open win of the 10 needed for 2009 Westminster. “Carlie” was WB. She just needs her 2nd
major to finish. “Danny”, Ch. Travler’s Greased-Lightning, co-owned by Bree with Cathy Keefer, was BOV Smooth
and BOB (BISS) over the roughs. The next day at CC of WPA (2), “Danny” was again BOV Smooth.
Aliyah Aussies is proud to report that at the 2008 Westminster KC show, BIS BISS AKC/ASCA CH Aliyah’s
Semper Fi of Joywalk—“Dallas”—was awarded the first Award of Merit in his breed
In her very first agility competition, Aliyah’s CN Sun Spots—“Sunny”—had a blazing 19.52 seconds run in her
Jumpers class to earn a Q and a 1st place. To give you a perspective, the course time was 31 seconds, and the closest
time to hers was the Border Collie at 23 seconds!

At the Collie Club of Maine Specialty (1), our rough collie puppy, Highcroft Bourne Travler, “Jamey,” was Best in
Sweeps. Smooth collie Ch. Travler’s Mustang Sally was BOS, and smooth collie Travler’s Federal Espresso “Freddy”
was WD for 4 points at his first show!

Results from the 2nd day of the weekend:
At the Collie Club of Maine Specialty (2), smooth collie “Freddy” was RD in the 4 point entry. Kennel mate rough
collie “Jamey” was RD - his first major reserve. These were both from the 6-9 month puppy class.

Travler Collies brags for the Salt City weekend:
On Thursday, at North Country KC, 7 month old smooth collie Travler’s Federal Espresso, owned by Becky Tehon
and Bree and Candy Ardizzone, was WD, BW for his 5th point. His aunt, Ch. Travler’s Mustang Sally, was BOV.
Bree Anne handled smooth collie Ch. Signet’s First Class Travler “Casey” to 3rd in her junior showmanship class.
On Friday, at Central New York KC, 7 month old rough collie Highcroft Bourne Travler, owned by Bree Anne and
Candy Ardizzone and Becky Tehon, was RD, handled by Bree. Ch. Travler’s Mustang Sally was again BOV smooth.
On Saturday, at OKA, “Freddie” Travler’s Federal Espresso was WD, BW over an extremely high quality entry for
his 6th point. Ch. Travler’s Mustang Sally had to settle for BOS - because her brother, Ch Travler’s Pierce Arrow,
owned/bred by Becky Tehon, Candy and Bree Anne Ardizzone, and Garry Lewis, made his debut as a special -
handled by Garry - and garnered the BOV win. In roughs, Highcroft Bourne Travler (“Jamey”) was WD, BW, BOV
for his first point. Bree Anne also was 4th in her junior howmanship class with Casey.
On Sunday, at Finger Lakes KC, Arrow and Garry were again BOV, “Freddie” was again WD, BW for his 7th
point, and “Sally” was again BOS. This was especially interesting, because the judge had a hard time making up
her mind between Arrow and Freddie for BOV, in the end going with the more mature dog. Freddie is Arrow’s son!
Bree Anne was 3rd in her junior showmanship class.
The week before, a few of our dogs made the trip to our national specialty in Wisconsin. With the numbers and
quality of the entries here, we’re always pleased just to “make the cut” in judging, which Freddie and one of our coowned
male specials, Ch. Travler’s Greased Lightning, did. But Freddie’s mom, Can Ch Thistlebrae Travler Iced Decaf, was 2nd in the huge Open class!

Pandi is Bred, handled and owned by Brenda Rath of Breven Cavaliers.
April 5, 2008
Today, at Hunterdon Hills Collie Club, my smooth collie “Carly,” Can Ch Thistlebrae Travler Iced Decaf, was WB
for her 2nd major to finish her AKC CH. She was recently 2nd in the Open class at our national specialty in
Wisconsin. She was handled by Kate Eldredge - because - WD, BW for 5 points and his 2nd major, was her son,
Travler’s Federal Espresso, handled by my sister, Candy. “Freddie” is not even 8 months old, and he now has 12
points. He was also drafted as a Junior Handling dog for Bree Anne, even though she had never handled him before,
when her intended juniors dog had a problem, and he helped Bree earn her 8th Open win toward Westminster 2009
and Best Junior Handler. Bree had planned to show her rough puppy, “Jamey,” in juniors, but Jamey was sufficiently
recovered by rough judging in the afternoon to be shown and earned RD, his 2nd major reserve.
All in all, a good day!
Becky
My smooth puppy, Travler’s Federal Espresso, was WD, BOS on Friday at the Springfield shows for his 13th point,
and took major reserves at both TriCounty Collie Breeders Association of SE NY and Collie Club of New
Hampshire specialties that weekend. He also teamed up with Bree Anne for junior showmanship, to bring her Open
Win count to 9—just one more to qualify for Westminster!

January 2008
Bree Anne Ardizzone was 1st in Open Intermediate and Best Junior Handler both days at the Midwest Collie Club specialty shows. This gives her 3 of the 5 open wins needed to qualify for next year’s Eukanuba Invitational and 3 of the 10 needed for Westminster 2009.
Thanks Becky Tehon

December 2007
From Leatherstocking: Travler Collies Brags: Bree Anne Ardizzone was 3rd in her Open junior

1st Open wins toward 2008 Eukanuba and 2009 Westminster) at CNYKC, and 2nd at SusqueNango KC.
She was handling smooth collie “Casey,” Am/Can Ch Signet’s First Class Travler. She handled smooth
collie “Sally,” Ch. Travler’s Mustang Sally, to BOS on Thursday and Friday, and BOV on Saturday and
Sunday. Jenn Hammond’s “Joey” Ch. Travler’s StoneyAcre Cup of Joe, co-owned by Candy Ardizzone
and bred by Candy, Bree, and Becky Tehon, was BOV Friday (and made the cut in the group), and BOS
on Saturday. Becky Tehon and Bree Ardizzone’s Ch Travler’s Touch of Magic was BOS on Sunday. In
rough collies, Travler’s Curtacy of Magic, co-owned by Bree, was RD on Thursday and Saturday, and
WD, BW, BOV on Friday and Sunday. He now has 7 points.
On Saturday at Springfield (today), Ch. Travler’s Mustang Sally was BOS in a large entry of smooths,
including a large major in bitches and several bitch specials. Her sister, down in Maryland, was WB, BW
for her 2nd major, to finish! “Belle,” Ch. Travler’s Good To Go, is the 5th from her litter to finish!

Ch. Travler’s Mustang Sally was BOS at the CC of New England specialty at Springfield on Sunday,

November 2007
Well, here I am, late again. You might remember that I posted about a nice 4-pt major my Can. Ch.
Dury Voe Scottsdale won at the Sheltie Specialty, held with OKA at Wine Country. That judge was allrounder,
June Penta. Well, as luck would have it, the next weekend, he went BOS over a Special, Sheltie
breeder-judge Dorothy Christiansen, and pulled off ANOTHER 4-pt Specialty win. The show on
Monday dropped to one, but he picked that up too, and then the next weekend, he went up over TWO
BIS Specials for BOSagain, which was the best part of that one point. So, in just three weeks, he has ten
points, with two 4-pt Specialty majors. How cool, eh? Its about time I got lucky. (don’t say that to my
husband or he will argue the point).

Last, but certainly not least, we have to give a huge thank you to our friend and handler, Marlene Slade,

have just been pretty couch potatoes! Marlene has certainly made this extraordinary show year possible.

We are thrilled to announce our newest champion. On Friday at the Elmira show, our Siberian bitch,“Kristi,” CR’s Lightnin’ Strikin’ Again, finished with her 3rd major. Other than a quick storm that blew
through on Friday, it was a perfect show weekend. Thanks for letting us brag.

I thought I had already bragged about my bitches CH but I guess reading the newsletter I didn’t .
(Anyway in Ballston spa on Wednesday my white Standard poodle bitch “Magnolia” Safari’s Saphire

October 2007
Bree Anne Ardizzone was busy at Ballston Spa this week. On Wednesday at Saratoga KC, Bree and smooth collie “Lacey” were 2nd in their Open Junior Showmanship Class. Unfortunately, it was the same time as smooth collies were judged in breed, so she missed that. Then on Thursday, at Glens Falls KC, Bree handled smooth collie “Casey,” Am/Can Ch Signet’s First Class Travler, to BOV smooth collie. This team also won 1st in the Open Intermediate junior showmanship class and Best Junior Handler! On Friday at Mohawk Valley KC, Bree and Casey again won BOV in breed and 1st in the Open Intermediate Junior Showmanship class. On Saturday at Southern Adirondack KC, she and Casey repeated these wins. We also showed some class dogs on the weekend. Smooth collie “Arrow,” Travler’s Pierce Arrow, was WD on Saturday for his 7th point. “Arrow” is owned/bred by Becky Tehon, Bree and Candy Ardizzone, and Garry Lewis. Then on Sunday, at Bennington Country KC, Candy and Casey had to settle for 3rd in her junior showmanship class, but Casey was again BOV. “Arrow” was WD again, but this time for a 3 point major—his second major—to give him a total of 10 points. “Arrow’s” sister, “Belle,” Travler’s Good To Go, was RB
From Wine Country, smooth collie “Arrow,” Travler’s Pierce Arrow, bred/owned by Becky Tehon, Bree Anne and Candy Ardizzone and Garry Lewis, was WD, BW all 4 days at Wine Country, to bring his total to 14 points, both majors. 1 more point to go!
Bree Anne handled smooth collie “Casey,” Am/Can Ch Signet’s First Class Travler, to some nice placements in Junior Showmanship at Wine Country—a 2nd, a 3rd, and a 4th. She is currently ranked in the top 5 collie junior handlers in the nation.

Nautika had a pretty good weekend at Wine Country. Three littermates from our Flurry to Fame litter (Am/Can CH Rivergroves Nautika Fleurdunor by CH Dieudonne’s Impyrial Acclaim) took points. On Thursday, Nautika Thimble Farm Gabriella (Gabby) was WB for a point and her brother Nautika’s Claim to Fame (Grif) was RWD. On Saturday and Sunday, Nautika Encore of Beranger (Corey) was WB, picking up 2 more points. And on Sunday, Grif was WD, BW and BOB (over 4 specials) for a 5 point major. Gabby is owned by Val Davis and Corey is owned by Deb Hilliard. Grif is co-owned with us by Karen DeFreitas.
Thanks,

I am only almost a week late on this, but have some neat news. The Sheltie club I founded in 1974, with the help of my friends, is STILL in existence, alive and kicking, in Central NY! They held their Fall Specialty at the OKA show, Wine Country Circuit. I had to go thru all sorts of hoops to get my Sheltie down from Canada (where I am now) to the handlers, who drove all the way up from North Carolina for the circuit, but we got it done. Everyone knows dog people are CRAZY, right? I risk life and limb driving across the border, a US citizen, driving a Canadian car, and married to a Canadian who is a resident ALIEN, WITH A DOG.
Anyway, to my surprise, they finally got hold of me on Sunday morning (I have about three or four phone numbers, and of course, they were calling the wrong one) and told me the news that my boy, Can Ch Dury Voe Scottsdale, had won a nice 4 pt major at the Specialty the day before, under June Penta.
He had gotten Reserve the day before that, but they didn’t call me about that one!!

Windy’s half brother Nautika’s Claim to Fame (Grif), bred by Garry and Peg and owned by Garry
and Karen also, was WD on Thursday, RWD (to a major) on Friday, RWD (to a major) on
Saturday and WD on Sunday.
CH Nautika’s Monsieur Tache, bred by Garry and Peg and owned by Melissa Metzler and Garry,
was BOB on Saturday over four other specials. It was Melissa’s fourth show and Tache’s first time out
as a Special,
At the Hamlin show on Saturday, Am/Can CH Rivergroves Honor Among Thieves (Sterling) was
shown for the first time as a Veteran and was Best Veteran Pyrenees and fourth in the Working
Group Veterans. The following day he was BOB at the Hamburg show.

Brags from Travler collies—Bree Anne Ardizzone’s junior showmanship collie, “Tia,” came in
season and returned to her co-owner for a litter. In the meantime, Bree Anne has been showing
smooth collie “Lacey,” Am/Can Ch Travler Curtacy Heirloom Lace. She and Lacey have been
doing well, with quite a few placements in large classes, including two firsts. In the breed ring,
Bree’s “Belle,” Travler’s Good To Go, bred/owned by Bree, Candy Ardizzone, Becky Tehon, and
Garry Lewis, got her last minor points at the Nango circuit. She just needs her 2nd major to
finish. Sister Sally, Ch. Travler’s Mustang Sally, was BOV on Saturday there. At KC of Buffalo,
brother “Danny,” co-owned by Bree with Cathy Keefer, was WD to finish at age 11 months—the
third from the litter to finish. Brother “Arrow,” Travler’s Pierce Arrow, was WD both days at
Genesee Valley KC for his first points. He is the fifth from the litter to earn points. Needless to
say, this was a nice litter! Thistlebrae Travler’s Iced Decaf (“Carly”) was WB, BOS over
specials in Maine for her 1st major. She just needs her second major to finish. We hope she gets it
soon —she is in whelp to “Arrow” for the first litter for each of them.
Thanks,
Becky Tehon

At the Tri County Collie Breeders Association of SE NY specialty, smooth collie “Sally,” Travler’s Mustang Sally, owned and bred by Becky Tehon, Candy & Bree Anne Ardizzone, and Garry Lewis,
was WB, BW. That brings her total to 9 points, both majors; Brother “Doc”, Travler’s has to settle for RD.
Thanks, Becky Tehon
It’s been quite a while since I have had any brag, but this one is worth it. My German Shepherd
male,“Sonny,” that I co-own with Cheryl Olson, never looked better. He went Breed both days and did us proud by taking a Group 4 on Sunday. He is a stunning Black & Red male and we received many
compliments on him. Cheryl had a great day too, on Sunday, also going Winners bitch/Best of Opposite
with her girl “Chrissy” and co-bred the Winners Dog. Talk about consistency! Sonny and Chrissy were
handled by Darcy Stuck-Foulkrod to perfection!
I couldn’t have asked for a nicer way to end the weekend!! Thanks for letting me brag!
Sue Barr
I also have a small brag. My white Standard poodle bitch “Magnolia” went WB , BOW, BOS Saturday

We had a pretty good weekend. On Thursday & Friday we have to back to back Specialties in Batavia.
On Thursday we placed 2nd in Bred By with both Seasi’s Raye of Sunshine “Sun” and Seasi’s We Will,
We Will Rock You “Rocky.” On Friday both Rocky & Sun won their Bred By Class and went RWD and
