Aliyah Aussies is very proud to announce
BIS AKC/ASCA CH Aliyah’s Semper Fi of Joywalk—“Dallas”
was awarded BOB Australian Shepherd at the 131st Westminster Kennel Club Show
on February 13, 2007!!
Dallas entered the breed ring ranked the #10 Aussie, the #9 Herding dog—all breeds respectively in the country. Although the Aussie entry was small this year, in comparison to last year (20 entered in 2007 and 43 entered in 2006), his competition was very big. Competing with him were the #2, #3, #4, #5 and #8 ranked Aussies in the country. Expertly shown by his owner, Kristin Elmini, Dallas entered the ring first in line and never relinquished the position!
When The Journal (official magazine of the AKC Australian Shepherd affiliate, United States Australian Shepherd Association) asked me why I thought Judge Lester Mapes liked Dallas, I said: “I believe he likes him for being a good representative of the breed standard. He is moderate in size, coat and bone. He has a solidly balanced front and rear coupled with the correct lay of shoulder and length of body to enable him to have that stunning side gait. Combine that with a good work ethic, after all, conformation is his job, its a combination that is hard to deny.”
Dallas showed well in the Herding Group, but did not get any consideration this time! We are looking forward to 2007 as Kristin starts to campaign Dallas.
